What if the most brilliant inventor of all time was secretly being assisted by a powerful goddess from another realm?

“FLASHES OF LIGHT” fuses history, science and mythology into a contemporary musical tale about the visionary inventor Nikola Tesla and his muse Electra, Goddess of the Storm Clouds.

 Set against the backdrop of the industrial revolution in New York City in the late 1800s, a Serbian immigrant turns the town upside down with his revolutionary inventions that come to him in visions during lightning storms...visions sent by a powerful goddess on a mission.

On stage, the audience sees two worlds. On the upper realm is the goddess Electra who has been tasked by a council of gods to assist mankind in harnessing the power of electricity. On the earth below, we witness the life of Electra’s chosen collaborator, the brilliant Nikola Tesla. Electra’s influence on Tesla results in a flood of ground-breaking inventions, ultimately leading him into a fierce rivalry with Thomas Edison in the infamous “War of the Currents,” a battle over the world’s electrical future. 

But when Tesla and Electra become obsessed with pushing the envelope of discovery, a star-crossed love story both tragic and divine unfolds, as the line between science and mythology begins to blur.
